Updating regulatory data
Irishnonprofits.ie displays information from regulatory sources. As re-publishers of information from the public domain our policy is faithfully to reproduce information as we receive it from our regulatory sources. The data is held in whatever status or quality it is held by the regulator.
If the data here are out of date or inaccurate your organisation should address this directly with the regulatory source using their established processes.
Below is a list of the regulatory data we display, along with information on how you can get them changed. We will endeavour to keep this guide up-to-date – in cases of doubt please go directly to the regulatory source.

Specific information about updating content
Organisation Name
By default, an organisation’s registered company name, as taken from the Companies Registration Office (CRO) filings, will be shown on the organisation profile.
Selecting an alternative to default registered name
Organisations may choose to replace the default name provided with another registered business name\ trading name by selecting from the list of alternative registered names.
If the name you trade by is not offered, if could mean that the name is not registered yet. If your organisation wants to change the registered company name or add a business/trading names this needs to be done directly with the CRO using the B1 or B10 form using the process outlined by the CRO.
Registered company addresses
These are issued by the Companies Registration Office (CRO). A company must notify any change in the location of its registered office by sending a completed Form B2 to the CRO using the process outlined.
Companies Registration Office (CRO) numbers
These are issued by the Companies Registration Office (CRO) on registration. To make a change or report an error, contact the CRO.
Charity numbers (CHY)
A CHY number is granted by the Office of the Revenue Commissioners (Revenue). The Charities Unit of Revenue maintain a list of entities with this status and publish it on their website.
In addition, companies with CHY status from Revenue are obliged to report their CHY status in their audited financial statements. The Company Registration Office (CRO) make these Annual return filings available as a matter of public disclosure. Â To make a change or report an error, contact the CRO.
Date of incorporation
These are issued by the Companies Registration Office (CRO) on registration. To make a change or report an error, contact the CRO.
Name of company secretary
These are issued by the Companies Registration Office (CRO). If you wish to change your company secretary, fill out and return the B10 form to the CRO using the process they outline.
Names of current trustees / directors
These are issued by the Companies Registration Office (CRO).To change the names of current trustees / directors, fill out and return the B10 form to the CRO using the process outlined by the CRO.
Number of full time employees
These are reported within an organisations audited financial statements as issued by the Companies Registration Office (CRO). If these are reported in error for the date identified, contact the CRO.
Memorandum and Articles of Association/ Legal objects
Memorandum and Articles of Association are the legal documents defining the organisations purpose, power, structures and rules. They are held by Company Registration Office (CRO) for every company on the register.
The clause(s) in the Memorandum describing the objects of the company is/are extracted from the document by INKEX and converted into digital form for republication on irishnonprofits.ie.
The process of text recognition and display is not flawless, and many of the source documents are of poor visual quality. As a result, this field of data is provided on a best efforts basis.

For transparency, Irishnonprofits.ie provides an image of the Memorandum and Articles of Association in every case where they are available. In certain cases, these documents may be designated by the CRO as out of date, withdrawn or deleted. Follow the process outlined by the CRO to amend the document held on file.
Audited Financial Statements (Document)
Where they are available, Irishnonprofits.ie provides an image of the most recently filed Audited Financial Statements. These are the source of the information presented on the Finance tab.
In certain cases, these documents may be designated by the CRO as out of date, withdrawn or deleted.
Audited financial statements are generally submitted with the Annual return.
