Welcome to the Charities Listing.

Until the provisions of the Charities Act, 2009 have been given effect, charities in Ireland are not regulated as such. However, more than 7,800 organisations enjoy the benefits of charitable tax relief, which is awarded at the discretion of the Revenue Commissioners (Revenue). Once the Charities Act comes into force, these organisations will be deemed to be charities.

Until then, they are listed in the Irish Nonprofits Database and published on www.irishnonprofits.ie using all of the information about them which is in the public domain: that is to say, the name by which they are registered with Revenue, their CHY number, and their registered address.
In the case of those which are also incorporated as companies (just over 50%), all of the regulatory data from their CRO filings will also be available.

Go the nonprofits database for more information about how to search for these.
