Accessibility of this website

We are committed to providing the highest possible standards of accessibility to enable access for the widest possible group of users of our web-based services.
As we continue to develop the site, and receive user feedback, for we will undertake a detailed accessibility audit. Meanwhile, in this Beta version, we have built the site to the highest possible standards.

All pages seen from the link Irishnonprofits.ie have been designed in accordance with the World Wide Web Consortium Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 (WCAG 2.0) on January 1st, 2011, available at “http://www.w3.org/TR/2008/REC-WCAG20-20081211/“.

We will try to ensure that any further development of our website will meet the success criteria specified in these guidelines.

www.irishnonprofits.ie is designed for maximum accessibility.

The site uses cascading style sheets for visual layout and all presentation has been completely separated from content, with the exception of layout tables.
If your browser or browsing device does not support style sheets at all, the content of each page is still readable.

You may use the tab key on your keyboard to jump from one link to the next. All navigation bars in the site provide a logical order for this.

The site makes use of style sheets that allow for resizing of pages.
Other examples of accessibility features include the following:

  • top level navigation is visible at all times.
  • all new content is published in accessible HTML
  • frames are not used at all
  • tables are only used for tabulating data, not for presenting images or text
  • images are kept to a minimum and are always described in ALT text.
